The ritual of marriage is one that binds us all, across all faiths and cultures. To be invited to bear witness to this is an incredible honour.

When it comes to wedding photography, I’m a firm believer that the best wedding photos are those that are made when moments are left to happen without intrusion, interruption or direction. Candid, genuine, unplanned and completely one of a kind.

If you’re looking for a set of unique photographs of your wedding that don’t look like “wedding photography” and you would much rather spend the day with your friends and family than worrying about what photos to make, then you’re at the right place today.

My fascination with the documenting one of the rituals that connect us all, across faiths and cultures began years ago at a family wedding.

I didn’t know it then, but those three rolls of black and white film that I photographed for myself would mark the beginning of my career as a documentary wedding photographer.

As a Toronto-based documentary wedding photographer, I’ve been invited into the lives of hundreds of couples, both here and abroad. I bring my whole self to every wedding I photograph, but the work is only made possible by the access and trust that my clients provide me with.

Below you’ll find a portfolio of my work. If it aligns with how vision of how you’d like to spend your wedding day, let’s get to know one another.

Thank you for spending time here.

I look forward to hearing your story and learning about what matters most to you.

Andreas Avdoulos,

“I do not have the words to describe the incredible experience we had with Andreas! My husband and I had to search last minute for a photographer and knew we found our guy when he asked what our venue was like rather than our budget!
His attention to detail and his laid back friendly attitude make him a seamless addition to your wedding day without the stress of managing a photographer. I cannot recommend Andreas enough to anyone looking for a wedding photographer.”

    – Maya Marshall, Bride

“Where do I start?! Andreas’ work is phenomenal. He truly captures the moments that you wish you could freeze in time. Rather than having an assortment of super posed photos, I have a gallery that shows the energy and feeling of our wedding day. From start to finish, Andreas has been super supportive, involved, and fun to work with - our guests loved him!”

    – Melissa Younan, Bride

  • A wedding day is an emotional rollercoaster, so rather than add to the stress, I take on a low key approach knowing full well that the idea of having someone point a camera at you can feel intimidating.

During my career, I’ve established a certain way of working that allows me to capture the images I do.

That method is the same each time; put people at ease, and capture intimate and personal moments and relaxed portraits throughout the day, without making a big production of it.

Creating this kind of work is based on connection, so each wedding booking starts off with a relaxed portrait session well before the wedding day.

I also photograph every wedding by myself as well - no fuss, no distractions. Just me and a couple of small cameras. I “embed” myself as a guest, allowing me to capture authentic moments without intrusion or interruption.

Coverage of the wedding story begins at the rehearsal, and continues on to photography of your wedding from start to finish.
