A Toronto documentary wedding photographer capturing, up close & personal, candid & authentic moments with intention.
Hey there, thanks for your visit today.
Before you take a look at my work, I’d love to tell you a little bit about what I do when I’m invited to be your wedding photographer.
Being a wedding photographer is actually a fairly strange line of work, but it’s something that I really enjoy doing. I’m there for one day, to capture a series of intimate and personal moments, and then when it’s all done I leave; only to do it all over again the next weekend with another couple.
When I’m asked what I do for a living, I say this; I create photographs of people experiencing this one incredible, extraordinary event in their lives together, and do so as if I were photographing a family members wedding.
When deciding who will photograph you and your family, it isn’t as simple as just liking their “photography style”. That’s just one part of it.
What you’re essentially doing is inviting me into your inner circle to be a part of what will be one of the most intimate, emotional, and exciting days in your lives together.
My method of photographing weddings is based on the art of observation over fabrication. I focus on authenticity, not chasing perfection. I’m there for you, to deliver images that will be conversation starters for years to come, not create cookie-cutter content for a superficial online audience.
Being your photographer isn’t just a financial transaction for me. I get to know my couples fairly well leading up to the wedding day, and the work is a personal thing for me.
My sole responsibility as your wedding photographer is to create a body of work that showcases how the day went down, what it looked like, who was there, and what the overall vibe was.
My wife and I recently celebrated twenty years of marriage, and together we are parents to three children. I’ve been photographing weddings for about as long as we’ve been married as well, and this experience has certainly influenced what I see and how I shoot weddings.
I find that I’m now at a place in my own life where I fully appreciate and understand what you’re going through, but I also connect with the parent’s side of the story as well.
I know you have an almost endless supply of options to consider, and I know I’m not the right photographer for every couple, but depending on what your values are, I may be the right photographer for you.
If the work I’ve presented here resonates with you, I’d love to hear from you.
“Andreas photographed our wedding and I am so glad we picked him! His photos are like no other, he really made us feel incredibly comfortable!”
