QUESTIONS & ANSWERS ABOUT WORKING TOGETHER
How much do you charge to photograph weddings?
Likely the most important question — I charge a flat day rate of $6000 for full coverage of weddings and private family events. Coverage of the rehearsal, wedding day, post production, and delivery of the edited photographs in print and digital format are included.
What is the process to inquire about your availability, and what happens when we inquire?
You can send me an email, fill out the inquiry form or call/text me at 416 474 5014 during business hours in Toronto. I respond to all inquiries personally, and usually within the same day they are received.
If your date is available, there are two options — you can proceed to simply booking me for your date, or we can schedule a time to talk about your plans.
A contract will be sent to you to review and approve online, and a 50% retainer is required along with the signed contract to secure me for your date.
I can’t find you on Instagram or TikTok…
I no longer share my clients personal and private photographs on social media.
Is there any sort of legal contract provided to us?
Yes, a legally binding contract that protects both you and I is provided and required to secure me for the wedding as your photographer.
What happens if we book you and you get sick or aren’t available for some reason?
I’ve actually never missed a wedding, but I do have backup in case something like this happens. I work with two other professional photojournalists who I can call on at any time to cover me should I not be available. You also have the choice to not accept those photographers and get a refund on the booking fee.
We’re fairly private people, what is your Privacy Policy?
I’ve included my Privacy Policy on my website. I don’t really share a lot of my clients private wedding photos online or on social media — you however are free to share your photographs as you wish, but I don’t automatically assume the right to do so.
What do we need to provide you with so you can do your job?
While it’s true that I can simply show up at a wedding or event and do my job, it does help to know certain things. Part of the new client onboarding process is getting to know one another well in advance of the wedding date, so that when that day comes, and I do arrive, the process of working together is fairly relaxed and stress free. I usually ask for a schedule of the day so that I can provide any feedback if required, and in terms of any sort of formal group shots or portraits, that time is usually built into the schedule and discussed in advance.
We’re planning a smaller wedding than most, so we only need you for a few hours, is that possible?
It is, however I try to limit how many smaller weddings I take on weekends. When inquiring, please let me know about your wedding plans so that I can provide you with a customized quote.
Where are you available to photograph weddings?
I photograph weddings in the Toronto, but also across Southern Ontario from Muskoka to Niagara on the Lake. I also photograph destination weddings and have done so across Europe in France, Italy, and Greece.
Do you have dates available in 2026?
Yes. I do not book weddings way in advance and leave many weekends open for last minute bookings as well. This year, I have open dates in April, March, May, July, October and November. I only take three to four weddings each month though.
If we hire you, will you be our photographer?
Yes, If you commission me to photograph your wedding, I will be there. In 20 years I’ve not missed one wedding. I take on a fairly small number of weddings yearly to ensure each one gets my full attention, and each commission is personally photographed, edited, and delivered to you by me. I don’t double book weekends and send others under my company name.
How long have you been photographing weddings?
I’ve been photographing weddings since 2003 for couples representing a wide range of cultures and traditions. I’ve photographed multi day events with hundreds of guests and huge production budgets, and very intimate weddings with just five guests.
How long after our wedding will we have to wait to get our photographs?
Most wedding galleries are ready for viewing and sharing within three weeks of the wedding day. I personally photograph, edit, and process every wedding myself.
Do you rely on AI to make any creative decisions on which images are good?
Call me old school, but I like the process of choosing which images are the keepers. I believe that’s why you’re investing in a professional photographer.
Do you also “shoot in colour”?
My Fuji cameras shoot in raw format - but I view everything in monochrome when shooting. It’s just how I like to work. The photographs I create are delivered to you in a mix of both black and whit and colour, and the files can go either way.
What will you wear at our wedding?
I dress appropriately according to the dress code of the wedding and the season. I don’t wear full tuxedos, nor do I show up with shorts and sandals.
Will you take posed photographs of us?
If you mean editorial / fashion inspired poses — no. There are countless photographers that do that sort of thing. I do however take portraits of the two of you, your guests and family members, but the majority of my day is spent observing and documenting.
Do you also provide videography?
I do not. I can however recommend someone to you that does that sort of work very well.
