Seize the day, you only do this once. You deserve an effortless wedding day – and a photographer who will capture the true-to-life moments that make your day truly your own.

“Having Andreas document Sophie’s wedding felt as though he was just one of the guests. What I noticed was that he was calm and intentional in the moments he chose to capture.”
– David Massicott
A relaxed wedding photography experience, so you can enjoy the day just as you envisioned it.
Over 500 events. 11 countries. 20 years of wedding stories.
My role as your documentary wedding photographer is observe, not direct, so you can be fully present while I document it all with candid, intimate images that feel effortless and true.
Perfect for nostalgic couples who value connection over performance.

– Liz Perry
“Andreas was very easy-going and he made us feel comfortable. He managed to capture our wedding authentically while always conducting himself professionally, and our pictures turned out beautifully!”

– Shinzue Sato
“Andreas understood the assignment - plenty of candid “documentary style” shots that capture the essence of the moment. That’s all we wanted and he delivered. He also respected our wishes for privacy. Highly recommend.”

Here’s why couples choose me to be their documentary wedding photographer for their big day.
✓ I specialize in documentary-style wedding photography, and have done so exclusively for the past twenty years.
✓ I understand that most people would rather spend their day with the people they love than pose for photos—so I work quietly, letting you enjoy the day with minimal interruption.
✓ My approach allows you to be fully present, while still receiving a thoughtful set of images that reflect how everything truly looked and felt.
✓ With over 500 weddings photographed across 11 countries, I bring deep experience and sensitivity to each celebration—honouring a wide range of cultures and traditions.
✓ Your privacy matters. I only share images online with your permission. The photos I create are not for my social media account - they are for you and your family to enjoy.
✓ Clear, prompt communication is important to me—you can expect a response usually within the same business day. I am available and accessible throughout the working relationship.
✓ I personally handle every step of the process—from photography to editing to final delivery—ensuring consistency, care, and attention throughout.

“As a documentary wedding photographer, what’s most important to me is capturing moments that are true-to-life, and an honest representation of the wedding day”
Hi, I’m Andreas Avdoulos, a documentary wedding photographer in Canada.
For the past 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of documenting over 500 weddings and private family gatherings across Canada and Europe. I focus on honest, candid moments—the small gestures, glances, and interactions that quietly tell the story of your day.
While my style is rooted in documentary style photography, I always make space for a few relaxed portraits with the people who matter most to you. The process is relaxed and casual, allowing you to spend the wedding day celebrating with your guests.
On a personal note, I’m a father of three teenagers, dog walker of two doodles, and I have been happily married for over two decades. My experience as a father certainly influences how I photograph weddings now, with my work being more intimate and personal that ever.
Couples often tell me they appreciated how natural and easy the process felt right away, from the first phone call to working together on their day.
If that sounds like what you’re looking for, I’d love to connect.
