👋 I photograph simple, intimate & interesting weddings for nice couples who want a proper record of it all without all the usual stress and fuss associated with “wedding photography”.

Hi again, I’m Andreas Avdoulos, a long time photographer of weddings and other private family social gatherings. I’m not the right photographer for every couple, but depending on what you’re looking for, I may be right for you. For well over twenty years I’ve been a documentary wedding photographer.

I live in Fergus Ontario, a small town right beside Elora with my wife of over twenty years, and our two daughters. I serve clients locally, across Toronto, Southern Ontario, and a few destination weddings each year.

In the perfect world, I would say “I’m not a Wedding Photographer” but Ian Weldon out of the UK already did that years ago, and I’m not sure everyone really “gets it” anyway. Saying that is more about the mindset and the method than a hard and fast statement because yes, I photograph weddings, but I think that my approach, one that i’ve worked on and changed over the years doesn’t really fit with the “wedding industry” standards, which I think is a good thing!

How I differentiate myself is that I photograph every wedding on my own, I don’t manufacture moments, direct you, stage a scene, ask you to do something just to make a photo and I don’t work with “must have photo lists”. I’m there, experiencing the wedding day along with you, your friends and family, and providing a visual record of it in the way that I do it.

Your wedding isn’t some exercise in making content for my website, and I won’t be flying a drone either. As for the portrait part of the day, I’m sure you don’t really want to be told how to pose for hours on end, so I do take a few simple portraits of the two of you, a few family group shots so your parents won’t get mad, and then get back to capturing the real moments - sloppy drunks and all.

I don’t really have any packages with silly names. I show up when your wedding starts, and leave towards the end of it.

I don’t use AI in any of my process, but I still deliver a complete set of photographs to my clients within a few weeks of their wedding date. I shoot, edit, and deliver each gallery personally.

Oh yeah, and I always deliver a set of prints along with the digital files because that’s what real photography is about.

I’m not the right photographer for every couple. I don’t operate my business like that. Like, if you’re planning a two hour trip to some random park in the middle of summer just to take a bunch of photos of you standing around - count me out, and if you’re looking for someone who will promise you 2000 photographs, I’m not your guy either.
