For all photography related inquiries please contact Andreas directly by email.

Andreas is a Toronto documentary wedding photographer who seeks out and records honest, intimate and deeply personal photographs for his clients. His candid images represent the unplanned and genuine human moments that would have happened on their own, making his work truly authentic documentary wedding photography.

Andreas’ approach challenges the idea of what wedding photography is or “should be”, moving past easily replicated and trendy styles that are often based on nothing more than manufacturing “perfection” and following a very specific and impersonal cookie cutter image making formula.

For over two decades Andreas has photographed intimate and large scale multi-cultural weddings for local couples across Canada and Europe. He’s committed to creating work that is authentic and represents his clients unique and personal wedding experience as it actually happened.

His method of working is based first and foremost on connection, trust, and ensuring that the photographic process is as relaxed and stress-free as possible, ensuring you’re able to enjoy the day fully while he immerses himself to capture these intimate and personal images of your experience.

The couples who commission Andreas are often looking for something much different than the status quo. They place a greater priority on spending as much time as possible with their friends and family, and want a set of original and personal photographs that feel as if they were made by someone close to them.

Meet Andreas, Toronto Documentary Wedding Photographer.

    • I began my creative life 100% sure I was going to be a graphic designer. I went to school for that, and then one day found myself working for one of Toronto’s top advertising and commercial photographers as his retouching artist - that’s where I learned about photography.

    • Never at any point in school, or when working with other photographers as a retoucher did I think “I’ll photograph weddings” …it was just never on my radar….

    • Weddings sort of just happened, by way of a girlfriends cousin’s wedding, and me bringing a camera with a few rolls of black and white film to that wedding.

    • While working in house at an ad agency retouching thousands of photographs of food and product photography, I began photographing weddings on the side. I needed something more challenging and creative to do. Eventually I left the other job and have been “a wedding photographer” ever since.

    • I’ve photographed weddings for about as long as I’ve been married - just over 20 years. We have three kids together, two dogs, and now live north of Guelph Ontario with them all.

    • Being a fairly typical creative / adhd type, I once did a full 180 from weddings and opened a small speciality espresso bar called Caffeina, but my true calling is as a photographer

    • In addition to photographing weddings, I’ve produced documentary photography for corporate and commercial clients in Toronto

Hi there, I’m Andreas Avdoulos, a Toronto documentary wedding photographer. I’ve spent over two decades documenting weddings locally and abroad.

I work with private clients to provide them with one-of-a-kind images of their wedding day experience.

I approach each wedding as an observer, capturing real, unplanned moments so that years from now, you can relive the day and tell your own stories through my photographs.

I work in a very relaxed, candid, first person’s documentary style, prioritizing observation over fabrication. I don’t chase trends, follow rigid shot lists, or turn your wedding into a big production.

There’s beauty in the imperfect fleeting moments, and that’s where my attention stays.

To make the process of being photographed as relaxed as possible, I choose to work alone at each event I photograph. This allows me to be blend in and be part of the wedding day, rather than be the focus or a distraction.

If this approach resonates with you, and are interested in learning more, I invite you to reach out to me today to start that conversation.
