ANDREAS — TORONTO DOCUMENTARY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

People have asked what it’s like photographing a wedding — to which I say that it’s like immersing myself in a movie that’s playing in real time. I spend the majority of the day simply observing, and capturing genuine, intimate and personal human moments that happen all on their own — there is no direction, staging or prompting on my part in any way.

With over twenty years of experience and knowledge from having photographed hundreds of weddings locally and abroad, what I do as a wedding photographer, besides making photographs for them, is this: I help you enjoy your wedding day by being a calm and trusted presence, and working in a way that is as stress-free as possible — because your wedding day isn’t for me in any way whatsoever.

My best work happens when couples are free to immerse themselves in their wedding day, to enjoy it fully just as they’ve planned it out, and that comes with the trust and connection that is established early on.

That’s when the photographs feel free and honest.

I live just outside of Toronto in the town of Fergus Ontario, with my wife and our two daughters. Each year I photograph a select number of weddings for couples planning something truly unique, intimate and deeply personal.

It’s an honour to be invited to share this experience with you, and to document it from my perspective. I look forward to learning about you and your plans.
