Andreas is a documentary photographer who captures genuine human moments at weddings and private family events.

Andreas’ photographs challenge the preconceived idea of manufactured perfection in wedding photography, with each event presenting him with the opportunity to honour and appreciate the unique moments that can never happen again.

His unconventional candid photographs are free from the assumptions and routines often associated with traditional wedding photography. Rather than direct poses, choreograph or stage events, he captures genuine human moments of emotion and interaction that take place organically throughout the day.

Even after over two decades of photographing weddings in Toronto and Europe, Andreas still approaches each event as it was his first, allowing curiosity to guide his creative process — a sort of democratic approach where no one particular image, person or experience is deemed more relevant than the next. The final result is a set of original, unrepeatable photographs that are completely unique to each couple’s wedding experience.
