Meet Andreas
I’m a Documentary wedding photographer in Toronto who has spent the past 20 years creating one-of-a-kind, genuine and timeless images through my candid first-person style of photography.
The couples that choose me are crafting a wedding day that they know won’t be “perfect” but is unique and deeply personal to them. They want photographs that are both truthful and unforgettable, that showcases what the experience of being there looked and felt like.
These photographs I create are unique to me, and can only really be made by the access and trust given to me by my clients.
I’ve included a curated body of photographs from past and recent weddings, and if you have any questions, or want to see more galleries, feel free to send me a message today.
For those inquiring about having me photograph your wedding, you can expect a response from me personally sometime today.

A Letter from Andreas
I’m often asked why I photograph weddings, and why, after over twenty years of doing so I still enjoy it.
Ultimately, when it comes right down to it, photographing a wedding is all about the people.
In a way, every wedding is exactly the same, but what makes each one completely unique are the people - the supporting cast of your close friends and family, and how they engage with one another during this day.
This wedding that you’re planning will likely be the only time in your life where all of these people are under one roof together, for you, with you, and that’s a rare and beautiful thing.
That’s why I think that the way it’s photographed should be done in such a way that the focus is on you, and the overall experience of this day, not on me or the photographic process.
I came into weddings after working as a designer and photographer in advertising.
As a documentary wedding photographer, I find my inspiration for this work from unlikely sources - not from other wedding photographers, but from photographers of our past.
These celebrity, fashion, conflict and society photographers have vastly different styles, but they all focused their attention on the connection with the people in front of their camera, which is what made their work so distinct and memorable.
When there is a connection - even a momentary glance or interaction with the person in front of the camera, it’s obvious and it’s what makes an image quite unique and memorable.
So what is my “style” as a wedding photographer? It’s rooted in documentary photography, but it’s a blend of both observing and participating.
I’m not there to creep around with the camera, but rather to capture intimate “first-person’s perspective” type images that give you, the viewer a sense of being there in that moment.
Being a father to three teenagers, and having been married for just over 20 years has greatly influenced my work.
In fact, I began photographing weddings right around the time we got married. Lately, I find that the images I make are far more intimate and personal, and I find I’m at a place in life where I understand what both the couple and their parents are all going through.
This perspective, experience and knowledge is what I bring to each wedding that I photograph and it’s what makes my work unique to me, and to the couple who commission me to document their wedding day.
